Home Coalition Partners
The Springfield Prevention Coalition is made up of community partners that are both individuals (teens, parents, and other community members) and representatives of other organizations, groups, and agencies. Partners come together through SPC to further collective substance abuse prevention efforts. Our partners contribute to the planning and implementation of coalition programs and activities, and are the driving force behind the coalition.

For networking purposes, we have included here a list of our members and their role in substance abuse prevention in the community:
STOP (Springfield Tobacco Options & Prevention)
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“As a professional in the Prevention field for the past 7 + years I understand the importance of working with others in the community to get the message out to actively engage parents, youth and adults to change the norms to exclude ATOD from our daily / rituals.”
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…

Christine Chapman

SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“Rate of teen pregnancy is one of the indicators the building Bright Futures Springfield Regional Council is working to improve. There is a direct connection between youth who engage in at-risk behaviors and teen pregnancy rates. If we can lower substance abuse in teens, I believe rate of teen pregnancy will be reduced, as well.”
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“It’s my profession!”
Springfield High School Student Assistance Program
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“As the Student Assistance Professional at Springfield High School it is important that I am aware of the existing prevention/intervention services available in the Springfield area.”
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“I have a personal and professional interest in learning everything I can about the prevention of alcohol abuse and drug addictions. I want to be a part of ending of the cycle that has effected generations of children.”
Springfield Justice Center
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“In my job I work with people of all ages who are being diverted from the criminal justice system because they are young and have never been in trouble before; to people who have been in a great deal of trouble and are transitioning out of jail, and everything in-between. In 90% of the clients I work with drugs and alcohol has played a role in the past or it’s something they are currently struggling with. I think of the huge impact that a reduction in first time users of alcohol and drugs would make on the corrections system, in people’s lives and in the lives that are affected by having a loved one addicted to a substance or incarcerated…think about what a difference that would make!”
SPC relates to my professional and/or personal interests because…
“Public Health is all about preserving the thin veneer of civil behavior that defines human life.”
